Look of the Day! Very summer lang!

As opposed to the bad weather here, I came up with another floral ensemble that I’d prolly wear if I had enough guts and confidence to do a midriff number. I miss sunny days!

Love the way the pink belt has exactly the same color as the one in my sheer floral cover up. 

So I guess I wasn’t able to hide my not-so-flat tummy huh?!

More photos… Seriously, the sheer cover up screams summer to me. I could see myself wearing this at ze beach!

Got to wear my skeleton boots again. They’re pretty tough to put on.. I still love these babies anyway!

Here are a few fresh ideas on what to buy this season and how to pull off that look with style:

1. Bold Printed Dresses.This is the season to go bold so don’t be afraid to break out of your comfort zone with a brightly colored printed dress. Printed dresses are the perfect mix of femininity and style. It will look great with a pair of sky-high red wedge sandals or ankle-wrap heels. It’s a fun and flirty summer look that almost any body type can pull off.

   

2. Sheer Tops. A great cover-up for bulky arms or a heavier torso, loose and flowy sheer tops paired with some cutoff shirts are perfect for those beach days and weekend wear. Pick out a bold and bright sheer top that you can wear with a colored tank underneath.
   
   Try something like this sheer stripe top with wide-leg pants, shorts, or even some skinny jeans for a balanced look.
    
3. Snakeskin Pumps. Show off your wild side in a pair of snakeskin open-toe pumps. Stick with pumps that have a platform heel and super-skinny heel to create a chic and stylish look. These shoes are great with a little black dress and otherwise simpler dresses you’re sporting this season.

    

   

4. Striped Skirts. Go preppy with a sailor blue stripe pencil skirt paired with a white blouse, tank, or tee shirt. Skirts with horizontal stripes are great for those with narrower hips because they create the illusion of width and will give you a curvier experience.
   

   They’re the perfect excuse to show off a great pair of legs as well! Wear these with some straw wedges or platform sandals for the complete look. 

   

5. Bold and Bright Blazers. A notch-collar blazer in a brightly-colored hue can be just what you need to freshen up your wardrobe for the season. Whether you wear it with a pair of skinny jeans, flared leggings, or some khaki pants, the jacket will create a more structured and streamlined silhouette. Wear a simple teeshirt underneath or go with a ruffled or frilled blouse for a more feminine look. Stick with three-quarter length sleeves or just roll up the sleeves for a more relaxed and laid back look. This is one closet staple that you can use to create multiple outfits.

If you’ve ever watched TLC’s show “What Not To Wear,” you know that fashion is tricky no matter what age you are. Luckily for those in the dark, there are a few standard tips to be shared.

The following are some easy to remember (and abide by) tips for those ladies who have reached the age of 40 and beyond:

• No Miniskirts – The old adage is true, you really shouldn’t be wearing miniskirts after 40 years of age. Now, don’t take this to mean that you can’t wear skirts at all – there are a lot of age-appropriate skirts out there. Just be aware of the hemline. “I recommend anywhere from 3 inches above the knee to right below the knee,” says Amy Tara Koch, a Chicago-based style expert, in a “Reader’s Digest” article. That part of your leg is often the skinniest part, she also shares – that is, aside from your ankles. Naturally, you want to always dress to flatter your own body, so accentuating the skinniest part of your legs will make you look thinner and taller. If you must wear a miniskirt, there is one exception to this rule: Wear it with tights or leggings (the non see-through kind). Also, make sure any skirt you choose isn’t too tight. Remember to flatter your body and leave some things to the imagination.

   

• Be Cautious with High Heels –You can absolutely wear high heels when you are 40 and older; however, you need to buy age-appropriate high heels. This means no spiked stilettos and nothing that’s name-branded and marketed toward 20-somethings. (This includes anything Juicy, for example.) Keep neutral colors in mind and aim for shorter heels averaging about two to three inches high. If you’re off to a 40th birthday party in Las Vegas, there may be an exception, but you should still remember to keep it classy. 

  

• No Glitter – Glitter is fun, but it’s not for those who are nearing menopause. Leave the glitter to the young kids who have yet to learn what real fashion is. Instead, go for a shiny metallic belt or a shirt that uses shiny threads to give your clothes some “pop.” Use accessories to show off your shiny side with metallic bracelets or shoes that offer a metallic element.
   
• Educate Yourself – When in doubt, look around online at popular fashion blogs or browse through your favorite magazines. Maybe you can’t exactly recreate the look you love, but it should provide some inspiration. Another great option is to take an online fashion course. Online courses are flexible and can provide you with up-to-date fashion tips. Learn more at online college classes.
   
• You’re Fabulous –As they say, 40 is the new 20 and it’s fabulous. Remember that just because you are 40 doesn’t mean that you can’t also be fashionable, whatever it is that means to you. Keep your body shape in mind and remember to keep having fun. You’re fabulous and your clothes should reflect that.

Blurry. Gloomy. Rainy. It’s been like this all week.. Bummer!

Lisbon sandals – Such a good find at Topshop. A size 6 but it fits me just right.. Comfy too! I’m shoe happy!

How’s everyone’s Friday night doin’?! We went out last night so no “night outs” for me tonight.. Anyhoooo, boyfie and I checked out a newly opened spa here in Butuan. It is the best! Their massage service is a combination of Thai and Swedish massage. They twist your body in awkward positions. Lol! I felt relieved right after I heard my back crack. Haha! So if you’re here around the city might as well check out Sukkari Spa (endorse much?). Thanks for the treat babe!

Woot woot! LOTD time!

If you think I’m all about baring skin (in my usual Hubadera mode) by wearing short shorts and tiny tops, I’m about to prove you wrong. Haha! I had a chance to take outfit shots a while ago. But then it started to rain, I didn’t have the time to check and match the clothes I brought with mee. Dayuuum!

Steph calls this look “balot na balot”. Conservative lang ang peg! Lol!

This super cute top is from Urban Dressing. So cute right?! I received it in good (almost perfect) condition. The shop owner was kind enough to have this item visit the laundry shop first before it was sent to me. Yay!

It started to drizzle when we took these photos. Bummer! What do you think about today’s look?

Been dying to wear this pair of leggings. Finally! It reminds me of Versace for H&M stuff, yes?!

Anyway, some of you may have heard the news about the tragic fire incident here in Butuan City. I’m going to share with you a little about that building. Anyway, it is an old landmark in one of the busiest intersections here. Once an old theatre turned into a badminton court, department store (Novo) and office spaces. It is where I used to go to do my GCash transactions since it’s approximately 4 blocks from our house. We passed near the building after the shoot and it looks bare and empty. The fire was strong enough to eat up everything that the only thing left was the concrete firewall.  I could just hope the victims and their family are given justice as well as the compensation they so well deserve.

Haven’t shot in ages in this particular place outside the house nowadays… Maybe we all got caught up looking for new venues and stuff like that! What’s best about our newfound places is that they don’t have that much people staring at us like we’re some crazy narcissists. Uhmm… Yeah!

Nearly all of my photos have these weird poses doing this thing with my hair. It can be blamed for my uber long hair before and it’s annoyingly unmanageable. So if you see me and my photos doing the hair thingy again, SLAP ME! Just kidding!

My one and only shoes from DAS. I swear I’d work my ass off just to buy another pair from them. I’m dreaming and will keep on dreaming!

I guess that’s about it for today’s look. Bonding time with ze hubby tonight.. Another long night accompanied by movies and bottomless iced tea. I got my fingers crossed hoping the list this time doesn’t include horror movies..

Black and Blooming

What I wore on a night out yesterday. Prior to that, Steph and I had a mini Lookbook shoot at our secret place. It is a deserted strip of road in the village that’s perfect because it doesn’t have people around and it has an ample sunlight at a desirable angle. Errrr, yeah, enough explaining…

Now when we shoot, it usually equates with a gazillion of outtakes. I don’t know about you guys but everytime I shoot my looks, I (kinda) waste a lot of shots looking awfully awkward. Now that Steph takes my outfit shots, it felt (and looked?) a lot better coz she coaches me how. Haha! I miss boyfie taking ze outfit shots though. We did that for over a year remember?!

Serious much?! These booties were on SALE when I bought them by the way. Such a good find since I don’t own that much booties!

Look Mum, No Heels!

I found a certain stray folder titled “RESERBA” in my files that had these pictures in it, unedited.  I remember these were my stock photos way back my 365 days challenge. Didn’t know I’ve saved a few and have forgotten about them overtime. 

It was a delight though. At least I get to post this cool blue velvet blazer that I’ve always wanted to wear ever since I bought it. Camille Co has one of this too, as seen in her look here. She looks so cute, no?!

What I wore not so long ago.. This was last week’s LOTD (I think!). I’ve been slacking with my outfit posts that I felt I had to post this one sooner.

It’s one of the days where I feel like dressing up for work. Sooo, I chose this metallic piece from my stack of shorts and looked for something I could match with it.

Black buttondowns look great in everything be it shorts or pants.
