Look of the Day – Another outfit that I have put on together in the nick of time. Cropped tops, denim shorts, and a lack of time to think what goes with what. Voila! Allow me to say, here I go again.

Cropped top, GIFI Clothing. Ombre denim shorts, Bubbles. 99 Two, Jeffrey Campbell. Accessories, Forever 21.

Last week, a bunch of goodies arrived in the mail. A helluva lot of goodies, so to speak. It is enough to start my week with a bang and brain is now preoccupied with imaginary outfits. I do that sometimes. Well, maybe quite a lot. Teehee!

Sooo, in relation to today’s outfit, I made sure to make the look edgy. If this isn’t edgy enough then I sure hope the barbed wires and other industrial stuff in the BG made up for it.

Now we know that pairing cropped tops with high waist denim shorts is a given but I like to wear them while I still can. One of the perks of being in early 20′s is getting away with pretty much any look. Agree? Lol!

GIFI Clothing sent me 3 tops in this cut and kind so the challenge is on! Currently thinking of ways on how to create looks without being redundant. Hmmm… Penny for your thoughts?!

Revamp your old denim shorts by going ombre. Bubbles did it by bleaching it halfway. Now you got yourself a old/new pair!

Look of the Day — This is my first look wearing matchy matchy top and skirt. What do you think? I love the effect of the interesting cut of the top plus the full on flared skirt. It totally made me feel like I’m in kindergarten again. I used to have “ternos” way back as a little kid. Haha!

I love wearing sets. You may have seen me before wearing matchy matchy clothes in my previous look. What makes me think it’s “sulit” to buy such articles of clothing is that you can always opt to wear them separately. It’s a smart choice. Heee!

This set has got to be my favorite among the bunch I bought. I don’t own skirts that much so this is a wise add on. The flare of the skirt makes me want to twirl around. Haha!

Sticking to neutral pieces such as the choice of shoes is my thing. I don’t want to overpower the clothes here.

A-line skirts are great for us girls with petite frames.

The lack of LOTD’s and blog posts are due to a busy week here in our city. The festivities are nonstop and we had a full week of nightouts and events. Let’s not forget my girlfriend duties too! Haha! I enjoy taking photos/videos whenever boyf has a dj-ing stint. Now, everything’s back to normal so expect an increase in the frequency of new posts. It’s a sigh of relief to be back to my good ole routine again. Believe me. Lol!

Look of the Day – This was last Saturday’s casual outfit. I needed something that I can wear from day to night with ease so being a “top and shorts” kinda girl, I stuck with the concept. Voila!

Striped top and belt, PINKaholic. Denim shorts, Forever 21. Bag, Mango. Neon pumps, LYFH.

We all get carried away with what’s “uso” at times that we forget how comfortable and stylish the basics are. I’m guilty. We tend to overthink trying to match everything and come up with an ensemble that’s uniquely you. It’s a relief to take a break from the trendy stuff, a breather!

So this look is an ode to basics. If you’ve been following this blog then you can easily tell how much of a sucker I am for top and shorts. Lol!

What I love about buttondowns is that you can easily dress it up or down depending on the mood and occasion. It’s one of the items in my closet that I can’t let go. 

 As I’ve said, I wore this LOTD last Saturday (except for the shoes). Uh huh, LOTD fo’real! I attended a (sort of) high school reunion post party. We managed to catch up before the Liquor Ban was officially implemented by midnight. Pretty much like a Cinderella story. Haha!

Look of the Day – Donning two trends combined into one. How do you like halter neck dresses and polka dot pattern? Fit and flare dresses are the it silhouette lately. One word, clazzz! I’m starting to like girly looks. It’s fun!

 I’m drawn to shoulder baring necklines nowadays. It elongates the decollete and it keeps the whole ensemble interesting. Cuts like these are flattering especially when the top is a bit fitted and it’s flowy in the bottom.

It looks kinda retro too, don’t you think?

If you’re tired of the black and white polka dot, add a twist by trying different color combination. The minty green dots on this dress are subtle but noticeable.

Kept my accessories simple. I don’t own a lot so I don’t think I have a choice. Lol!

I’m a sucker for details and I’m digging this keyhole/high neck cut!

New minimalist shoes. Suede, nude, gold. One of the 4 pairs I bought last month. Primadonna has stepped up their game with their new collection. Want. More. Shoes. Teehee!

Look of the Day – Fashion trends come and go, let’s rejoice that off shoulder tops are making a comeback. Huzzah! Would you rock one anytime soon?

Off shoulder top, PINKaholic. Neon denim shorts / slim belt / strappy sandals, Forever 21. Floral wreath, Little J Accessories. 

When you need that instant girly effect, I’d say shoulder baring tops are the quick fix. And although these kinds of cut remind me of Jasmine in Alladin, it has the right mix of comfort plus the sophisticated vibe. Am I still making sense? Haha!

Tops like this are pretty versatile; match it up with shorts or pants and you’re good to go. They require a little “getting used to” because there’s sort of restraint when I try to raise my arms up. Not that it matters that much but you get my point. Lol!

One setback about off shoulder tops would probably be the choice of undergarment. Sure we’d love to be showing off some skin but we don’t need that bra strap peeking out, do we? I’d stick to strapless bra or in this case, a skintone bandeau. 

I’ve been hoarding stuff from PINKaholic lately and I tend to overuse this floral headpiece as well.

New shoes alert! The design reminds me so much of my shoe crush from Zara (and they don’t have size 5).

Yay to F21 for catering to girls with lotus feet like me and another yay to my Kuya’s girlfriend for being an impromptu personal shopper! Haha! Whatcha think?!

With cash ever tighter, many people are opting to ‘staycation’ in the UK, as a cheaper summer holiday option.

There’s a myriad of fantastic destinations to choose from in the UK, whether it’s a romantic city break or a family friendly beach break that you’re after. Or maybe you want to explore some of the UK’s amazing countryside? Whatever type of holiday you choose, the UK is no poor man’s option.

Packing for the temperamental UK climate, however, can prove difficult. Even in the height of summer, the UK can see wind, rain and chills, which can make choosing a holiday wardrobe a tricky task.

Here are some essential items for any staycation suitcase:

Layers

Layering really is key in the battle against the British elements. Take t-shirts that can be layered with fine knitwear, including men’s cardigans and jumpers, to keep warm if the temperatures drop.

A light cardigan is always useful, even if just for popping on in the evenings or using to sit on on the grass or the beach. It will fold up to next to nothing in a case or bag, but will be worth its weight in gold should the weather take an unexpected turn for the worse – as it can often do in this country!

Cottons

Cotton is a fantastic fabric that will keep you cool and comfortable in warm weather, but covered when it turns cooler. Cotton chinos for men and linen trousers for women are great for days when the weather is changeable and you don’t want to risk shorts or a skirt.

Choose muted colours for a fashion forward way to wear lightweight summer trousers.

Leggings

Leggings can be a suitcase saviour for women, as the addition of a pair of leggings to a summer dress can make it perfectly wearable on greyer days. Add a lightweight knit and some pumps and you’ve got the perfect cool summer day outfit.

The Maxi

The maxi dress is another versatile summer buy. It’s ideal for daytime wear with a cropped jacket when the sky is cloudy. A simple maxi also makes a great evening outfit, with the addition of jewellery and either embellished sandals or wedges to add height.

Pumps

Humble pumps are a fantastic ‘all weather shoe’. Choose cool cotton canvas and they’ll allow your feet to breath while sightseeing and exploring. They will also keep your feet dry in those unexpected summer showers. They’re also lightweight, and can be squashed flat to make room in a case.

You’ll find slip on plimsolls in a variety of styles for just £8 a pair at George at ASDA. A great value holiday buy!

Raincoats

Essential for keeping off the rain and an extra layer of warmth – and also great if you’re planning on visiting any theme parks during your break! Raincoats are lightweight and take up no room at all, so there’s no excuse for getting caught out!

The last thing you want to be lugging around the UK is a huge suitcase. Head to George at ASDA to find all the necessary clothing, making you pack light this summer and you’ll enjoy your staycation no matter what challenges the great British weather may throw at you!

Look of the Day – Excuse the crude attempt at making a funny title. Anyhooo, prints, feathers, and colors are the theme for today’s festive look. It is fun and it screams summer all over!

Bandeau tops are everywhere this season. I’ve had this top for more than a week now and I got caught thinking of ways on how to wear it without looking too plain or boring. I went for skater skirt/bandeau top combination. This black skirt never fails and it is prolly one of the wise buys I made last year. I’ve paired it with buttondowns and bustiers (seen in my past looks). 

Festive, being the descriptive word for today’s look, inspired me to inject a heavy dose of colors into my looks. You might’ve been bored with the monochromes so I figured it is time to take a (rather short) break.

I’m totes head over heels with this bandeau top! I’ve seen it being worn by other bloggers so having the opportunity to wear one too is kind of an honor. Many thanks to my friend behind the Binkydoodles brand. I’ve been a fan of her works ever since. And uhmm, let’s not forget the dress she customized for me too. Thank you Binky!

Given that there’s a detailed bow-tie at the back, it is amazing how boyf managed to tie it up without ruining the whole ribbon concept. Still looks decent to me. Never mind the moderate (dextro)scoliosis though!

The Philippines is a giant oven at this moment so time to avail the “less is more” mantra when it comes to dressing up. Teeehee!
